The Clothesline Project - “Walk in her shoes” / Strength Against Violence
Today I covered a student run event at Fullerton College in Southern California. The purpose of the event is to spread awareness of domestic violence, rape, and other serious issues that often go unreported and unacknowledged.
T-Shirts bearing emotional messages hung from clotheslines, survivors gave powerful speeches, music resonated within the quad, and male students and faculty members walked the school wearing women’s shoes to show their support.
More photos from this event can be found HERE.

DO NOT DISMISS A SOMETHING A CHILD IS PROUD OF. LOOK AT IT. POINT SOMETHING OUT AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE IT. IF A CHILD DRAWS YOU A RAINBOW, TELL THEM YOU LOVE HOW IT HAS RED. THEY WILL THINK “WOW. IT DOES HAVE RED. THEY LOVE HOW I PUT RED IN IT. I PUT RED IN IT. AND THEY NOTICED.” MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD KNOWS YOU ARE PROUD OF THEM.
Whoa now this is what I call a history lesson
